Fairfield Horseshoe
The Fairfield Horseshoe is one of the
Lake District's most picturesque walks, taking in the fells surrounding Rydal Beck from Rydal itself. Being a ridge walk means you stay up high all day long, giving you plenty of opportunity to admire the fantastic views. The walk isn't too strenuous and is easier going that many of those up Scafell Pike, but it is still quite a long day at 16km and with 1100m of ascent.
During the walk you will pass over no-less-than eight summits:
- Low Pike (508m)
- High Pike (656m)
- Dove Crag (792m)
- Hart Crag (822m)
- Fairfield (873m)
- Great Rigg (766m)
- Heron Pike (612m)
- Nab Scar (440m)
